The American Society of Pain Educators (ASPE) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the standards of clinical pain practice by providing training in pain management education and establishing credentialed pain educators (CPEs) as fixed assets within pain practices, hospitals, healthcare systems, and long-term care facilities. CPEs will function as in-house standing people resources who are dedicated to providing exemplary education in pain management; available and ready to work with clinical peers, patients and their families to translate care plans, extend the amount of service being provided to patients, orient patients to new medications, monitor for safety, efficacy, compliance, and toxicity.
