TULSA, Okla./EWORLDWIRE/May 25, 2004 --- The Freedom Girls have unveiled their first radio commercial for the Patriot War Bond at the Pro-Rally for America in Tulsa, OK, on May 23 at Memorial High School Stadium.Randi Dale, who graced the cover of Popular Photography magazine as the poster child for the Patriot War Bond in 1944, is now joined by her daughter and her seven-year-old granddaughter 60 years later. On October 1, 2003 the U.S. Treasury marketing department for the U.S. Savings bond program was cut. The Freedom Girls have taken it into their own hands to keep the war bonds alive.
Standing on street corners, going to state fairs, making a radio commercial and spending thousands of dollars of their own family money, the trio has spent the last 2 1/2 year promoting the Patriot War bond.
Freedom Girl Susan Dale, daughter of Randi and mother of seven-year old Anastasia, said, "By buying bonds, we're ensuring the nation we believe in will be safe and secure for our children and those who come after us."
The Freedom Girls are also challenging Tulsa area companies to sponsor a $10 phone card for each of their respective employers. The cards are to be sent to troops overseas to give them the ability to call home. The Freedom Girls first goal is to obtain funding for 2000 phone cards.
On May 18, local Tulsa bingo hall Super T Bingo will be creating a game called "Red, White, and Blue," and that all proceeds from the game between June 1 and July 4 will be donated to the Freedom Girls to buy phone cards for the troops.
