Claes Nobel To Address High School Honor Students On UCLA Campus

Media Advisory

ATLANTA/EWORLDWIRE/Aug. 6, 2004 --- The National Society of High School Scholars will hold a member event on Tuesday, August 10 on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles honoring outstanding high school students and featuring speaker Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel Prize family and Chair of the NSHSS Advisory Board.

Also among the featured speakers at the event will be Don Banks, community leader and father of NSHSS, Advisory Board member Tyra Banks, and UCLA students Anthony Eskander and Kinbo Lee, both NSHSS student council members. The keynote address will be delivered by Claes Nobel. UCLA admissions counselor Pablo Mejia will also speak to the gathering. The event will take place at 8:00 p.m. in the Horizon Ballroom of the Covel Commons Building.

"These honor students have already reached great heights by consistently demonstrating academic strength and community leadership, and we are proud to show our pride and support," said Nobel. "What our members are doing in their schools and in their hometowns is truly admirable, and each of them highlights the hope and the confidence we all should have in our young people."

The National Society of High School Scholars was formed in 2002 to recognize academic excellence at the high school level and to encourage members of the organization to apply their unique talents, vision and potential for the betterment of themselves and the world. Currently, the NSHSS has over 100,000 members in the United States and eighteen countries representing 22,000 high schools.
