For Immediate Release
MOUNT FREEDOM, N.J./EWORLDWIRE/Sep. 8, 2004 --- In celebration of Grandparent's Day on September 12, The Sturge-Weber Foundation, the largest international, not-for-profit organization helping individuals with Sturge-Weber Syndrome, Klippel-Trenaunay, and Port Wine Stains, is launching an endowment campaign to honor grandparents. The SWF wishes to honor grandparents for the important roles they play in the lives of their grandchildren and for the legacy they build for younger generations. The Legacy Campaign presents grandparents with the opportunity to contribute to The Sturge-Weber Foundation's various programs. Parents also have an opportunity to honor grandparents. Since 1987, The Sturge-Weber Foundation has been promoting awareness of Sturge-Weber Syndrome, and in 1992 it expanded its mission to include helping those with Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome and Port Wine Stains.
The Sturge-Weber Foundation's main goals are to empower individuals and families of those with Sturge-Weber Syndrome, Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome, and Port Wine Stains; to educate the general public, the medical profession, and government agencies by disseminating information about these conditions; and to facilitate and fund research on these conditions.
