CALGARY, Alberta/EWORLDWIRE/April 28, 2006 --- Today, CoolIT Systems today announced that it has teamed up with Acceleware on a project that will represent a tremendous advance in computer simulation and data processing algorithms.
As technology changes to keep pace with the needs of computationally intensive applications, computers are running hotter and hotter. Since traditional cooling hardware cannot adequately cool processors, chip manufacturers have had to integrate thermal protection circuitry that slows down the processor when it becomes too hot. “The bottom line is that the hotter the processors run, the slower they go,” said Geoff Lyon, CEO of CoolIT Systems. Sean Krakiwsky, CEO of Acceleware adds, “We sell speed. Our boards do the work of ten CPUs and produce a lot of heat. The project will commence in April and is scheduled to be completed in fourth quarter of 2006.
