The winners will be recognized at a black-tie banquet in their honor on Wednesday, September 24.The Sarnoff Award, named after David Sarnoff, early radio pioneer, is presented annually to an individual of international renown who has made lasting and significant contributions to world peace and security. In addition, this individual has exhibited a sustained, personal commitment to enhancing the future of mankind through communications, electronics and information technology. Previous Sarnoff recipients include Vice President Dick Cheney, General Colin Powell, former Vice President Al Gore, Norm Augustine, Admiral Bobby Inman, Senator Barry Goldwater, Admiral Archie Clemins, Duane Andrews, Dr. Ralph Shrader, and General Richard Myers.
It is AFCEA's honor to present this year's David Sarnoff Award to General Alfred Gray, USMC (Ret.). Throughout his 41-year career in the Marine Corps, General Gray exhibited skilled leadership and command, as well as personal commitment to the warfighter. Retiring as the 29th Commandant of the Marine Corps in 1991, the General continued his service to the country by maintaining an active role in national security affairs. He is currently a Senior Fellow and member of the Board of Regents, the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, and a senior advisor to the Center for Emerging Threats and Opportunities.

Enterprises, LLC.
