BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J./EWORLDWIRE/July 19, 2007 --- Many of the thousands who attended Affiliate Summit 2007 East - the largest conference and tradeshow for the affiliate marketing industry - joined Affiliate Summit Corporation founders, Shawn Collins and Missy Ward, in fundraising efforts for the March of Dimes, to raise just shy of $16,000, with additional funds continuing to come in.Fundraising efforts consisted of:
- An auction to have a company logo placed on all of the Affiliate Summit staff shirts for the duration of the three-day conference. The winner was Andy Rodriguez Consulting with a high bid of $6,650.
- An auction to have a company logo placed on all of the Affiliate Summit educational videos. The winner was ShareASale with a winning bid of $2,550.
- Charity hugs from Scott "Uncle Scooter" Hazard, president of Brightside Media and inventor of the ScooterSqueezeT (details at 'http://www.affiliatehug.com').
Affiliate Summit contributed $5,000 to the March of Dimes as part of the fundraising effort.
Collins and Ward selected the March of Dimes to align with in recognition of the immense work the organization performs - raising awareness, providing education and supporting research, while working to prevent premature birth. More than half a million babies in the U.S. every year are born prematurely, resulting in either loss of life or any number of other lifelong consequences such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, chronic lung disease, and vision and hearing loss.
