SAN DIEGO/EWORLDWIRE/June 4, 2008 --- The Fraud Discovery Institute (FDI) posted a word-for-word transcription now available on its Web site ('http://www.frauddiscovery.net') of a television news interview that recently aired in the country of Peru ('http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5lxzd_la-ventana-indiscreta_school') in which a government official appears to be leaning towards a ban of all Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) products in that country. According to government official Wellington Chumbe of the Medical Federation in Lima, Peru stated the investigation against Herbalife has recently intensified. He states: "We are deepening the investigation so we can have sufficient evidence and obviously in coordination with the competent authority, to proceed with the restriction or the withdrawal of these (Herbalife) products, so to avoid further exposure of these products to people that by consuming such products will suffer irreversible damaging consequences to their health (page 5 of transcript)."
The interview profiled certain Herbalife distributors who wholeheartedly endorsed the health and safety of their Herbalife products. However, expert nutritionist Milagros Haburto was not persuaded. He not only does not recommend the products but went so far as to say in the interview regarding meal replacement drinks that: "This is what I am questioning as a professional nutritionist, it says to substitute two daily meals with a delicious shake and have a well-balanced meal. This goes against any norm of nutrition when we are talking about a healthy diet. As a professional, I would not recommend it because my work as a nutritionist is to teach people to eat and enjoy the foods/nutrients that we can find in nature and for them to learn to combine and mix and no shake would or should replace the nutritional education (page 4)."
The interview also referred to the worldwide alert from the country of Spain as page 5 of the transcript states: (Commentator:) "For now, the government of Spain has sent a global warning to the Herbalife consumers."
