The theme of the event is "Learn, Lead, Change the World," and the featured speaker is Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel family that established the Nobel Prizes, and Chair of the NSHSS Advisory Board. Other notable speakers include top executives from Abercrombie & Fitch, NASDAQ, and Monster Worldwide Inc. Senator Isakson's office will offer remarks, and President Carter has sent a congratulatory letter to the NSHSS members. NSHSS Student Council member Gary Crosby, Birmingham Southern College senior, will address the group. Crosby served as an intern in the Obama presidential campaign and as the State Coordinator for the Alabama Students for Barack Obama. The program will include a panel discussion with college admissions representatives from Yale University, Stanford University, Cornell University, George Mason University, Princeton University, Washington University in St. Louis, Purdue University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Southern Methodist University, Louisiana State University, The University of Georgia, Illinois Institute of Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Linkoping University from Sweden. The panel discussion will be moderated by Nancy Beane, college counselor at Atlanta's Westminster High School. After the program, students will can meet and speak with the college representatives. During the program, "AHANA," Emory's acclaimed acapella singing group, will perform.
