About NH02D Program for the Treatment of Premature Ejaculation
NH02D is a neurologically active, orally administered drug that is being developed for on-demand treatment of premature ejaculation. Based on clinical observations in healthy volunteers, NH02D was reported to delay ejaculation during sexual activity. In addition, NeuroHealing recently demonstrated the effectiveness of NH02D in a validated animal model of premature ejaculation. The animal study was conducted in collaboration with Dr. Lesley Marson at the University of North Carolina, who will be presenting the results at the annual American Urology Association meeting in Chicago in April, 2009.
Premature ejaculation (PE) is the most prevalent male sexual disorder affecting 20-30 percent of sexually active men and is even more prevalent than erectile dysfunction. Currently, there are no clinically proven products available for the treatment of PE in the United States or Europe. The market for PE drugs is estimated to be at least as large as the erectile dysfunction market, which was $3.4 billion in 2007.
