Over 18 Million Pounds Diverted from California Landfills

VISTA, Calif./EWORLDWIRE/March 13, 2009 --- On Friday, February 20, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce awarded E-World Recyclers the prestigious title of Business of the Year. The Award was presented during a gala dinner at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara overlooking the Batiquitos Lagoon. The event celebrated local businesses whose practices promote healthy economic growth as well as environmental sustainability.

E-World Recyclers, based in Vista, is one of the largest recyclers of electronics in Southern California. In addition to processing e-waste the company specializes in corporate data destruction and asset management. In 2008 E-World Recyclers participated in efforts to create a set of certification guidelines for this industry, known as the R2 Responsible Recycling Guidelines. They also acted as test facility for implementing these protocols.

During the evening the Carlsbad Chamber also awarded other green friendly businesses in the area such as Legoland and Aptera Motors. In addition the banquet featured popular marine artist Robert Wyland. Wyland, who is famed for his beautiful murals of whales and lush undersea vistas, created unique one-of-a-kind artworks for the attendees and was himself hailed as a leading Environmental Spirit of our day.
