    San Diego Hosts Largest State-of-the-Art Warfare And Technologies Conference And Exposition

    FAIRFAX, Va. And ANNAPOLIS, Md./EWORLDWIRE/Jan. 30, 2004 --- The largest state-of-the-art warfare and technologies conference and exposition on the West Coast is coming to the San Diego Convention Center, February 3-5, 2004.

    West 2004, co-sponsored by AFCEA International and the U.S. Naval Institute, promises to be bigger and better than ever with 350 exhibitors showcasing the latest defense and IT products and services.

    Following on this year's theme, "Born Joint?", West 2004 speakers and panel sessions will look at how programs and operations within the military can become joint, or meet the needs of all services. Featured speakers include ADM Vern Clark, USN, Chief of Naval Operations; ADM Edmund Giambastiani, USN, Commander, U.S. Joint Forces Command; ADM Walter Doran, USN, Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet; VADM Terry Cross, USCG, Commander, Coast Guard Pacific Area; VADM Albert Konetzni Jr., USN, Deputy and Chief of Staff, U.S. Atlantic Fleet; and MG Robert Scales, USA (Ret.), Co-author, The Iraq War: A Military History.

    Six panel sessions will provide West attendees the opportunity to dialogue with experts about the latest policy and technology issues. Topics include NMCI; lessons learned from Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom; joint weapons systems; experimentation; Fleet Response Plan; and Expeditionary Strike Groups.
