Claes Nobel Presents Scholarship To Outstanding Florida Student

Award Presentation Scheduled for February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wyndham Resort Orlando Hotel

Media Advisory

ORLANDO, Fla./EWORLDWIRE/Feb. 25, 2004 --- Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel Prize family and founder of The National Society of High School Scholars, will present a $5,000 Claes Nobel Academic Scholarship to Florida high school student Joshua Sommerfeld at a special event in Orlando on February 28, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wyndham Resort Orlando Hotel.

Sommerfeld is a senior at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach and was selected for the award from among 15,000 applicants. President of both the Study Body and Honor Council as his school, the multi-talented student is described by his school counselor as an "incredible blend of humanist, scholar, politician, and musician."

Mr. Nobel stated, "I am deeply honored to recognize Joshua as one of the nation's most outstanding students."

Mr. Nobel will also present the Claes Nobel School of Distinction award for excellence in academics and community service to representatives of Northport High School, Northport, New York, who will attend the event. This award provides $500 to high schools nominated for distinction by their students.

The Nobel family established the Nobel Prizes in 1901 in order to note outstanding contributions in the fields of peace, literature, medicine, chemistry, and physics. More than a century later, these internationally renowned awards continue to distinguish scientists, authors, and leaders in a world forum. Mr. Nobel wishes to continue his family legacy by encouraging young people to reach their full potential and make a real difference for mankind.
