COOP Systems Announces Distribution Agreement With Atlanta-Based Cherry Systems Data Recovery

Distribution partnership extends scope of Cherry Systems services, includes hosting critical business recovery services.

For Immediate Release

MCLEAN, Va./EWORLDWIRE/Nov. 10, 2004 --- COOP Systems, one of the industry's fastest growing providers of business continuity planning software, this week announced that it had entered into an agreement with Atlanta-based Cherry Systems Data Recovery to distribute and support the myCOOP(TM) continuity planning and recovery system from COOP Systems.

Under the terms of the agreement, existing clients of Cherry Systems will immediately be able to utilize the myCOOP(TM) system to develop critically needed business continuity plans. Clients with older disaster recovery plans can also easily convert and upgrade those systems as part of the Cherry Systems offering. In addition to the continuous 24-hour hosted services offering, clients will also have the option of installing and running the system in their own data centers.

"The issue of continuity planning is gaining in momentum almost weekly," explained Chris Alvord, CEO of COOP Systems. "Given the focus on compliance legislation, and companies' growing awareness of their needs for critical recovery plans, there is a clear need for a simple cost-effective solution. We are pleased that Cherry Systems will be partnering with us to offer this solution to customers and prospects alike."

Cherry Systems, a leading provider of data recovery, backup and LAN/WAN support services is well positioned to incorporate business continuity and recovery as part of its overall product and services offering. According to Haim Sternberg, CEO of Cherry Systems, "The addition of the myCOOP(TM) solution in combination with our current services gives us a very broad range of services to offer companies concerned about the ability to respond to any kind of business crisis or emergency."

Alvord continued, "Our aim is to become the software and service vendor of choice for companies that recognize that they need an immediate capability to plan for and respond to emergencies. This strategic partnership is a significant step toward this goal. Cherry Systems has an excellent reputation in the Atlanta and greater Southeast markets, we look forward to a very productive partnership."
