HIGHLAND, Utah/EWORLDWIRE/May 10, 2006 --- Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel Prize family and founder of The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), will present a $5,000 Claes Nobel Academic Scholarship to Utah high school student Shannon Babb at a special recognition ceremony on May 13, 2006, in the U.S. Dirksen Senate Building in Washington, D.C. NSHSS will honor outstanding students and educators during the program. Babb, a senior at American Fork High School, was selected for the award from over 10,000 applicants. She is the 2006 winner of the Intel Science Talent Search for her research on water quality and received the 2005 National Young Naturalist Award by the American Museum of Natural History. Babb will study environmental sciences at Utah State University.
