PHOTO AVAILABLE: LibertyWalk 2008: A 4,913 Mile Walk For The United States Constitution Mobilizes The Public
For Immediate Release
DALLAS/EWORLDWIRE/April 11, 2007 --- On January 1, 2008, the 4,913 mile journey of the organizers and volunteers of the LibertyWalk will begin with one step, with each mile symbolizing every word in the United States Constitution. During the 185-day event which departs from Austin, Texas, LibertyWalk will remain non-partisan, and participants will cover 20 states, averaging 26.5 miles per day or a little over a marathon each day, until returning to conclude in Austin on Independence Day, July 4, 2008.
The shape of a star, symbolizing "hope," will form the points of the travel. Within each leg of the star, the charitable LibertyWalk will be creating awareness about a specific project, and current issues the United States faces regarding each project, while raising money for local charities nationwide. Projects of the star include:
. Awareness
. Civil Rights
. Veteran's Rights
. Peace
. Equality
. Poverty
. Education
. Environment
. Constitutional Rights
. Immigration
At each of the five points of the star, rallies will be held, creating a platform for all citizens to speak to the nation regarding projects just completed or those about to begin.
