C. J. Ford Believes that Orange County Authorities Covered Up the Real Reason that DNA was Recently Run to Solve an Unsolved Case

Criminal private investigator C. J. Ford, Jr. of C. J. Ford Private Investigations thinks it was by authorities currently handling Death Row inmates Kenneth Clair's Wrongful Conviction.

For Immediate Release

SANTA ANA, Calif./EWORLDWIRE/Dec. 19, 2007 --- Articles that have appeared on the AP and local newspapers in October of this year have reported that Orange County Authorities had interests in solving unsolved crimes. They took credit for solving the Hoffschneider murder of 1984, under this assumption.

However, according to C. J. Ford, independent criminal investigator and consultant, facts support that authorities didn't have the implied interest that they reported. The real reason that this crime was solved was because authorities were trying to keep death row inmate Kenneth Clair from being acquitted of a crime that they accused and convicted him of in 1984.

Ford says that he's been working on the Kenneth Clair case since 2005, and these reports are part of a facade by authorities to keep the public from finding out that the District Attorney convicted an innocent man, Documents supporting Ford's allegations can be found at the Superior Court of Orange County. The District Attorney filed papers specifically stating that DNA should be run in the Hoffschneider case because it is believed that Clair committed that murder, due to the similarities in the crimes.

The District Attorney got the results that Clair's DNA did not match; however, the Department of Justice showed that the DNA matched a man named Gerald Go.

Ford believes that the District Attorney has already run, or will not run, the DNA in the Linda Rodgers' murder Clair was convicted of, because it did not match or will not match Kenneth Clair's.

Ford revived the Clair case in 2005 when he found evidence that authorities reportedly destroyed 17 years ago still in their custody. Ford then discovered fingerprints found at the crime scene that did not match Clair's and that were never run to find the real killer. Ford viewed crucial documents on file with different Orange County Agencies earlier this year, that, if turned over to the defense years ago, would have shown Clair was not the perpetrator.

Now the Clair case strategy rests with John Grele of San Francisco, Clair's attorney and the California State Innocence Project in San Diego. Ford's roll in this case has always been as an independent criminal investigator and consultant.

Ford thinks, "If the District Attorney really believed in the concept of justice, he would rectify this mistake and find the real killer instead of covering up. Mr. Clair, an African American, has been on death row for over 20 years for a crime that an eyewitness says was committed by a white man." Ford thinks that authorities are more concerned in their own vanity, narcissism and solipsism and forget that the goal of the justice system is to find the truth, fairly, and administer equity.
