Paolino Outduels Rogers For GOP Ballot Signatures

    For Immediate Release

RADNOR, Pa./EWORLDWIRE/Feb. 21, 2008 --- Republican State Senate candidate Lisa Paolino gathered and submitted 25 percent more petition signatures from GOP voters than her primary opponent, Lance Rogers.

Paolino, a Radnor Commissioner and life-long Republican, submitted more than 950 petition signatures to the Department of State to secure her spot on the GOP Primary ballot. Rogers submitted just 727. State regulations require at least 500 signatures to get on the ballot for State Senate.

Paolino attributed her edge to the hard work of her campaign team and volunteers. "All of us worked very hard to get signatures across the 17th District," said Paolino. "The extensive door-to-door effort we used to gather signatures will continue until Election Day."

Paolino is a graduate of Villanova University with more than 20 years of professional business experience, most recently as vice president of operations and marketing for Mace Securities. She also serves as vice-chair of the American Red Cross Board of Directors' SEPA Chapter and the Board of Directors of the Wayne Art Center.

As a commissioner, Paolino has worked to hold the line on taxes. She has worked to acquire more than 50 acres of open space and is a liaison with the Radnor Conservancy, working to secure open space on one of the largest remaining parcels of farmland in the area.

Paolino completed two notable projects with Penn DOT, including the sound barrier retrofit along Rte. 476 and the award-winning, Radnor Rails to Trails Project.

In 1999 Paolino was the first woman in Radnor history elected to a full four-year term as commissioner; she has served as vice-president of the Board since 2003. She serves as chair of the Parks & Recreation Committee and as a member of the Finance & Audit, Open Space, Public Health, and Library Committees. She has two children and lives in Bryn Mawr.

The 17th State Senate District is comprised of Radnor and Haverford townships in Delaware County, and the towns of Bridgeport, Conshohocken, West Conshohocken, Narberth, Norristown, East Norriton, Lower Merion, Plymouth and Upper Merion in Montgomery County.
