For Immediate Release
The 30-second spot - the first by any candidate in the race - will air on local cable stations across the 17th Senate District, comprised of 11 towns in Delaware and Montgomery counties. In the ad, Paolino, a life-long Republican, declares that, "Harrisburg is a mess," and needs a new look. In the ad, Paolino goes on to say that it's time to send "a clear message to Harrisburg we're going to make a change for the better." She pledges to continue to work to "protect open space, hold the line on taxes and hold corrupt politicians accountable." The ad can be viewed online at 'http://www.Paolino.notlong.com' or on her Web site, 'http://www.lisapaolino.com'. In 1999 Paolino was the first woman in Radnor history elected to a full four-year term as Commissioner she has served as Vice-President of the Board since 2003. She serves as Chair of Community Development, past Chair of the Parks & Recreation Committee for 9 years, and as a member of the Finance & Audit, Open Space, Public Health, and Library Committees. She has two children and lives in Bryn Mawr. Paolino is a graduate of Villanova University with more than 20 years of professional business experience, most recently as Vice President of Operations and Marketing for Mace Securities. She also serves as Vice-Chair of the American Red Cross Board of Directors SEPA Chapter and the Board of Directors of the Wayne Art Center. As a Commissioner, Paolino has worked to hold the line on taxes. She has worked to acquire more than 50 acres of open space and is a liaison with the Radnor Conservancy, working to secure open space on one of the largest remaining parcels of farmland in the area. Paolino completed two notable projects with Penn DOT, including the sound barrier retrofit along Rte. 476 and the award winning Radnor Rails to Trails Project. Her campaign has already raised more than $100,000 and last month gathered and filed 25% more petition signatures than her primary opponent. The 17th State Senate District is comprised of Radnor and Haverford townships in Delaware County, and the towns of Bridgeport, Conshohocken, West Conshohocken, Narberth, Norristown, East Norriton, Lower Merion, Plymouth and Upper Merion in Montgomery County.
