CHICAGO/EWORLDWIRE/June 5, 2009 --- Contemporary abstract artist Susan Olmetti ('http://www.susanolmetti.com') will feature her newest works, "The Jonah Series," along with an installation of her all-wearable art, in a self-arranged and produced event. Mercura NYC, founded by exhibitors and sisters Rachel Cohen-Lunning and Merrille Lichenstien-Cohen, join the event with an exquisitely futuristic collection. Unique fantasy jewelry, metal fashions and table-mounted sculptures will be showcased.
Noteworthy celebrations at the show include:
* A special tribute to longtime Hotel Chelsea general manager Stanley Bard by Olmetti, Chelsea residents and hotel staff for his 75th birthday and contributions to the arts.
* The STONEWALL Veterans' Association (S.V.A), a non-profit, volunteer, educational organization for Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Transgender (GLBT) rights worldwide, is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion.
* Noted legendary GLBT activist and Stonewall veteran, "King" Storme DeLaverie will make a singing performance of "Stormy Weather" in honor of the Stonewall Rebellion.
The Tappan Z Gallery of New York proudly represents the Jonah Series.
