Cenomed Research LLC will Discover and Develop New Small Molecules for Prevention and Treatment of Neurological and Psychiatric Conditions and for use in Chemical Defense

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif./EWORLDWIRE/Dec. 18, 2009 --- Cenomed Inc. (Cenomed), a privately-held pharmaceutical company, today announced that it has entered into a joint venture with Keystone Pharmaceuticals Inc. to create Cenomed Research LLC.

Cenomed Research LLC will specialize in drug discovery and development of new drugs for the protection and treatment of the Warfighter and Veteran. Indications will include neuroprotection, chemical defense, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), post trauma epilepsy (PTE), cognitive/attention deficits and anti-emetics.

In addition, Cenomed will continue to look for new drugs for the treatment of other CNS disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.

The focus of the research by Cenomed's subsidiary, Cenomed BioSciences LLC, included the development of drugs for the treatment of schizophrenia and mood disorders. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
