July 29, Majestik Poker Tour Begins Month-long Tournament in Ante Up for Wounded Warriors, With Proceeds Aimed at Wounded Warrior Project

MPT Entertainment LLC announced plans to donate proceeds from charity poker tournament

Media Advisory

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo./EWORLDWIRE/July 22, 2010 --- The "Ante Up for Wounded Warriors" charity poker tournament announced by MPT Entertainment LLC today features plans to donate proceeds from a month-long event to assist service members who have been injured in the line of duty. All net proceeds from the Ante Up for Wounded Warriors event will be donated to the nonprofit organization Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) and will support a full range of programs and services for severely injured service members and their families.

With over 34,000 U.S. armed forces members already physically wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan and an estimated more than 300,000 expected to suffer from the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury, formerly active young men and women return home unable to care for themselves. Round-the-clock care required for wounded warriors falls most often on family members who have no choice but to leave their jobs and forego health care of their own.

WWP provides programs and services to assist injured veterans and their families during recovery, rehabilitation and transition. Whether through caregiver retreats, combat stress programs, career and education services, or via adaptive sporting opportunities, Wounded Warrior Project's vision is to help make the generation of wounded American warriors the most successful and well-adjusted in history.

Ante Up for Wounded Warriors Charity Poker Tournament

Poker players everywhere are invited to play in MPT Entertainment's Ante Up for Wounded Warriors month-long benefit on pokerstars.com (http://www.pokerstars.com). Beginning July 29, 2010, all participant efforts will be directed at raising funds to benefit the great cause of the Wounded Warrior Project. All net proceeds earned by MPT will be donated. MPT urges players who finish "in the money" to donate a portion of their winnings.

MPT Entertainment and the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) (ThePPA.org - http://www.thePPA.org) have reached an agreement for the PPA to advertise the event to its membership nationwide to support the event and its cause for wounded soldiers.

"Our soldiers are the spine and true strength of this great country. Whether or not you believe a war is justified, soldiers put their life on the line every day and, all too often, they and their families suffer in silence," said David Allery, founder of MPT Entertainment and Majestik Poker Tour. "Ante Up offers payback for our nation's military and the injuries they endure for us. We're proud of our association with WWP."

"On behalf of the injured service members, we want to thank MPT Entertainment for dedication to our nation's heroes. MPT's commitment to our service men and women is helping ensure the tremendous personal sacrifices they make for our country are not overlooked or forgotten," said Wounded Warrior Project Executive Director Steven Nardizzi.
