Local Community Helps to Raise $12,015.16 as well as Public Awareness to Fight the Disease

STAMFORD, Conn./EWORLDWIRE/Oct. 25, 2012 --- Massage Envy, the pioneer and national leader of professional, convenient and affordable massage and spa services, today announced that the Connecticut Region raised $12,015.16 during the second annual Healing Hands for Arthritis.

More than 800 Massage Envy clinics participated in the one-day national event on Sept. 19, 2012, when $10 from every massage and facial was donated to the Arthritis Foundation to support the organization's mission to prevent, control and cure arthritis.

As a network, Massage Envy raised over $678,000 during this one-day event.

During the event, Murad(R), Massage Envy Spa's exclusive skin care partner, donated 10 percent of all sales from products sold at Massage Envy Spas - Connecticut Region to the Arthritis Foundation. BioFreeze and Wyndmere also donated 10 percent of their retail sales to the cause.

Today, arthritis affects 50 million adults and 300,000 children. By the year 2030, an estimated 67 million or 25 percent of the projected total adult population will have arthritis.
