Free event: TeenNick internationally acclaimed television series Degrassi cast members visit with youth at HYLA 2013

PIERMONT, NY/EWORLDWIRE/March 7, 2013 --- Luke Bilyk, Alicia Josipovic, Raymond Ablack, and Dalmar Abuzeid of the TeenNick internationally acclaimed television series Degrassi will make a rare live appearance in New York at the HYLA 2013 Community Festival.

All four stars will be available for autograph signing immediately following the event.

Hudson Youth Leadership Academy (HYLA), which hosts an annual summer day camp, centers on activities that support youth leadership and civic engagement. The theme of this year's HYLA Community Festival is "Creating a Culture of Caring In Our Schools."

Other special guests include:

- An exclusive video presentation by Craig Kielburger, founder of Free the Children

- Skype exchange with Scott Baker, executive director of Free the Children

- Talina, 14-year old singer and songwriter who will sing her song "Just Be Nice," from her album "Adapted," and Rockland County's Trinity Gospel Choir

Attendees will learn about the upcoming June HYLA youth leadership day camp, which offers middle school, high school and college freshmen youth opportunities to gain confidence and leadership skills so they can bring about social change and civic engagement within their communities.

The HYLA Community Festival will take place Friday, March 8, 2013, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Rockland Community College, SUNY, 145 College Road, Suffern, NY 10901. Youth, friends, teachers and parents are invited to come join in the fun.

Following the presentation, Degrassi cast members will sign autographs and refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
