This program supports high school students in the development of critical skills necessary for matriculation through high school, college and higher education, and medical/dental school. The goal of this program is for participants to attain a career in healthcare as a physician, research scientist, physician investigator, physician leader, general dentist or dental specialist.

Each year, Charles R. Drew Saturday Academy is assigned to facilitate a community public health project. In the past, students have a conducted a blood drive in honor of the program's namesake, Dr. Charles R. Drew, to reinforce the importance of minority blood donations.

The public health fair project is being held in response to increased health needs in the communities served by Cleveland Clinic.

PARTICIPATION:
American Indian, African American, Hispanic/Latino, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors from Northeast Ohio schools and surrounding counties are invited to apply for participation in this program.
