Media Advisory

CHARLOTTE, N.C./EWORLDWIRE/June 26, 2013 --- Approximately 400 children, ages 6 to 12, will join Coach Kedric Golston of the Washington Redskins, Coach Roman Gabriel III, former player with the Oakland Raiders, Coach Jerry Moore from Appalachian State University, and players from the Carolina Panthers for the Third Annual NFL Football Camp hosted by the Coach Tate Foundation on June 28-29, from 9am until 3pm at East Burke High School.

The annual two-day camp is a Community Education In Sports, Arts & Music (CEI-SAM) Event that provides an opportunity for youth to participate in demonstrations and performance enhancing activities with NFL players, coaches and college athletes. The camp will consist of education sessions, mentoring opportunities with top professional athletes and coaches, a field segment, and an awards ceremony. Youth will develop leadership skills, participate in character-building activities and learn about personal and community safety awareness.

The registration fee which provides a t-shirt, commemorative water bottle and certificate of achievement for each participant is $40.00 per child for both days.

The Coach Tate Foundation (CTF) is a registered 501 (c)3 non-profit organization established in 2010 in
memory of Johnny "Coach" Tate, who passed away on April 28, 2010. Coach Tate was passionate about coaching, and it showed in the way he touched the lives of hundreds of kids and parents throughout his lifetime. To immortalize the passion and commitment Coach Tate showed for children and young adults in Burke and surrounding counties, Coach Tate's oldest daughter Phrantceena Halres established the Coach Tate Foundation. The mission of the Coach Tate Foundation is to provide scholarships, leadership development, and character building for student-athletes in Burke and surrounding counties.
